PASSER-LARS have successfully completed the demobilisation of a flexlay spread from the Lewek Constellation pipelay vessel. The 5500Te basket carousel and loading tower c/w tensioner were used to install flexible risers and flowlines for ENI OCTP Project.
The multi-stage demobilisation included; interim offload onto storage barge in Ghana, HLV load-out and transportation to Rotterdam NL, offload onto barge and transportation to Vlissingen NL, and SPMT / mobile crane load-in to final position at DOC–PASSER-LARS storage & spooling yard, Vlissingen.
Key design features of the carousel and loading tower, namely their single lift capabilities, allowed for efficient lifting operations. Effective management of subcontractors also led to significantly reducing the overall demobilisation duration.
The spread is now being re-commissioned onsite at the DOC–PASSER-LARS storage & spooling yard ahead of an upcoming cable spooling and storage project for an undisclosed client.
Package Manager, Hamish Cullens remarked,
“The demobilisation and completion of the ENI OCTP project marks a notable achievement for PASSER-LARS. The fast track project, awarded early 2017, set us a significant challenge; to design, build, mobilise, and commission our equipment ahead of spooling operations on the Lewek Constellation in May 2017. Careful planning, continued team effort, and reliable offshore equipment, has led to a successfully completed project”.
