VESSEL TRANSPORT BARGE

PASSER-LARS were awarded a full project management, design engineering, and mobilisation support package for a versatile cable storage and transport barge, for end client NKT.

PASSER-LARS in-house engineering team designed a fully flexible deck layout allowing project cables to be loaded/off-loaded using four different cable highway routes, allowing transpooling from/to various onshore facilities, and cable installation vessels. The barge is self-sufficient whereby tensioners, trackways, and overboarding chutes, are all repositioned using a standard telehandler permanently onboard.

The engineering package included deck layout and cable highway design, equipment seafastening design, barge stability and ballasting calculations, and product transpooling procedures.
